What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy elevates the time-honored practices of yoga and Ayurveda as vehicles for profound transformation and healing. This traditional approach integrates various adaptations of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals manage and improve their overall wellness.
Using a system of conscious movement, breath-based practices and meditation, it provides us with the opportunity to realign with our natural state of balance, bringing us back to a state of living with ease and vitality. Indeed, these practices can provide an opportunity for inner-growth, holistic healing and create a springboard where one can feel joyful and fulfilled in their life.
What does a Yoga Therapy session look like?
A Yoga Therapy session begins with a discussion about your goals and overall sense of well-being. After an assessment there is a guided personalized yoga practice with the aim of bringing your body, mind and spirit into greater harmony and more optimized health. A typical practice includes some combination of mindful movement, breathing exercises, and guided meditation. An outline for a home practice that honors your needs, interests and time constraints is provided at the end of your session so that you feel empowered to use the tools on your own at home if you are so inspired. As your body and mind heal and come back to a state of harmony, your yoga practice can be updated as needed in order to ensure further growth and transformation.
