Exploring the Yamas - Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation

  • Matt Nelson Yoga and Healing Arts 3934 Northeast 15th Avenue Portland, OR, 97212 United States (map)

The Yamas are considered to be the ethical foundation of yoga and the first of the eight limbs as outlined by Patanjali. An understanding of these principles, which include non-violence, truthfulness and more, can help practitioners develop deeper practices.

Incorporating complementary movement and breathing practices, chanting, visualization and meditation, we will discuss each of the five Yamas, enriching our understanding of yoga and how it can help us to live more fulfilling, joyful lives.

This five-part series will provide useful meditation tools for all experience levels and is intended for anyone interested in yoga and meditation. No prior experience is necessary.

Participants in this class will receive a recording of the practice that they can reference until September, 2024. If you are unable to attend the class live, you can still register for the class and receive the recorded version.
